Privacy policy

The short version: this site is built to collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, no comment systems, no advertising trackers and no third party scripts.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure records standard request logs, including IP address, user agent and the pages requested, used for security and capacity purposes and retained only as long as operationally necessary.
- Email you send us. If you write to editors@alaskancruises.us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it.
- Aggregate analytics, if enabled. If we measure traffic, we will use privacy respecting, cookie free aggregate analytics. We do not build individual visitor profiles.
What we do not do
- No advertising or cross site tracking of any kind.
- No sale, rental or sharing of personal information with third parties for their own purposes.
- No tracking cookies. The site works fully with cookies disabled.
- No embedded third party scripts, social widgets or external fonts that would expose your visit to other companies.
Search
Site search runs entirely in your browser against an index downloaded with the page. Your search terms are not transmitted to us or to anyone else, beyond appearing in standard server logs if you share a search URL.
Links to other sites
We link to external sites, including official sources and operators. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy stops at the edge of this site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold. Given how little we hold, this usually means email correspondence. Write to editors@alaskancruises.us and we will deal with it promptly.
Children
This site is a general audience publication and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the change and its date will be noted here. The last updated date at the top of this page is authoritative.
