Privacy policy

The short version: this site collects little. There are no accounts, no comment systems and no advertising trackers. We use one analytics service, Microsoft Clarity, described below.

What we collect

• Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure records standard request logs, including IP address, user agent and the pages requested, used for security and capacity purposes and retained only as long as operationally necessary.
• Email you send us. If you write to editors@alaskancruises.us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it.
• Cruise package enquiries. When you submit our form, we collect your name, email, optional phone number, travel preferences, party size, message and permission to respond. We use these details to answer your enquiry, not to subscribe you to marketing. Our hosting and email delivery providers, including Resend, process this information to deliver it to our team. Enquiries are kept only as long as needed for the request, any resulting booking and applicable recordkeeping obligations. Do not send payment, passport or medical information through this form.
• Usage analytics via Microsoft Clarity. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read, how far people scroll, and where the interface confuses them, through aggregate statistics, heatmaps and session replays. Clarity sets cookies (such as _clck and _clsk) to recognise repeat visits and captures interactions with the site. Text you type into fields and other sensitive content is masked by default and is not intentionally collected. Data is processed by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We use it to improve the site, not to build advertising profiles.

What we do not do

• No advertising networks or cross site ad tracking.
• No sale, rental or sharing of personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
• No social widgets, embedded ads or external fonts. We use hosting, analytics and email delivery providers as described above.
• Blocking Clarity with a browser extension or disabling cookies does not break the site. Everything works without it.

Search

Site search runs entirely in your browser against an index downloaded with the page. Your search terms are not transmitted to us or to anyone else, beyond appearing in standard server logs if you share a search URL.

Links to other sites

We link to external sites, including official sources and operators. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy stops at the edge of this site.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold. Given how little we hold, this usually means email correspondence. Write to editors@alaskancruises.us and we will deal with it promptly.

Children

This site is a general audience publication and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the change and its date will be noted here. The last updated date at the top of this page is authoritative.
